The world needs 3 magical words: Love, Care and Affection

We live in an era which is driven by technology. Today, we are more connected with each other than ever before. But, in this tech-driven, interconnected world, the fundamentals of love, care and affection remain the same. Before the advent of technology, we used to rely purely on face-to-face and open communication. Communicating with loved ones entailed writing letters, greetings, postcards, etc. and then eagerly waiting weeks for a reply. Staying in touch required commitment from both the sides and even dating used to be blind; strange isn’t it?

The advancement in technology has changed the way we connect and converse with others in society. Now, people meet online and via social media sites, keep in touch with their families and friends, take pictures of any trips or events, commemorate anniversaries and special occasions- all online. But as far as relationships are concerned, technology can never supplant the human touch and the need for in-person contact. Though texting and video calling can help you to stay in touch, it can never replace the need for face-to-face, intimate and open communication. It can never replicate the magic of love, care and affection.

So, don’t just text or call your loved ones, take time off from your daily chores to meet them. Tell them how special they are to you. Plan trips or get something for them to show your love, care and affection. Because, too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a listening ear, a kind word, a genuine compliment or even the smallest act of caring. All of these have a huge impact on our lives and have the potential to turn a life around.
